Excellent question. Actually I thought that with the microdose I wouldn't feel a thing and I was prepared to focus on the journey to increase this placebo effect.

In research with high doses of psychedelics like Ayahuasca and psilocybin, participants with depression shows the same drastic decrease in depression scores as the group that had a full journey.

The difference only becomes apparent when we look at the long term effects, which are more persistent in the patients that had a psychedelic experience.

As a beginner I had the expectation to only be able to feel the effects after some time, but I was mistaken because I could feel the effects almost beyond a doubt from the first dose.

I do think that part of this comes from the fact that I am used to the psychedelic landscape and kinda know how to 'invite' the experience, but the mushroom is definitely there.

To my surprise, I felt the effects even when I took half of the half of the dose.

It is important to calibrate as you go and project the day ahead of you so that in the days that you think a lower dose may benefit you, you are prepared to decrease the microdose.

So my answer is that it is beneficial to focus on the process in order to increase the 'placebo' effect, but don't fail to respect the power of this medicine, because even in microdoses it knows how to make itself present.

Thanks so much for reading and for the pertinent question!
