It Seems There Are Two Paths To Happiness
One is rooted in the present; the other is aimed at the future
It seems to me that there are 2 paths to happiness.
- The first is that you can achieve happiness by living in the present moment and appreciating what you have.
- The second path is that you can achieve happiness by hoping for a better outcome in the future.
Living in the Present
Living in the present moment can be hard. It’s easy to let your mind drift to what you want or worry about things that are going wrong.
It’s easy to find yourself thinking about the future, which is something you can’t control. It’s important to remind yourself that the present moment is what you have right now and it’s good enough.
Hope for a Better Future
The other path — to hope for a better outcome in the future — requires faith that things will work out.
When you’re hoping for a better future, it’s hard to feel happy, since you don’t have the things that make you happy right now.
