Microdosing has become tremendously popular in the last years due to the incessant waves of groundbreaking psychedelic research that has been painting psychedelic therapy as the latest trend in psychology when dealing with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. As a sub-perceptual dose, the participants are not meant to directly feel the acute effects of the substance but rather develop a healthier lifestyle in the long run by leveraging psychedelics in super small doses.

As a professional in the area, I get asked thousands of questions every week about the full psychedelic experience and microdosing. People looking to get into microdosing are usually looking to work on a specific goal or general well-being. In the two groups, the most frequent question asked by far is this:

“I have started my microdosing routine but I don’t notice any benefits, am I doing something wrong?”

Well, there is no general answer that fits all cases. Such as it is with acute experience, the microdosing journey is unique to each individual and the challenges are also particular to each participant. Nevertheless, a few points are shortcomings present in the microdosing routine of even seasoned psychonauts. Microdosing is Not A Magic Pill

This is super important both for microdosing and a full dose. Going on a psychedelic experience hoping to have the solution to all your problems is setting yourself up for failure. If the participant tries to force their way into the trip, it usually derails and results in an unproductive experience. It is important to let go of unfunded expectations and to be able to follow the psychedelic journey whichever way it goes.
