This is Where Everything Changes for Cannabis: “Historic Moment”
Holland lets hash shops buy weed from government-approved growers
Most people don’t know this, but cannabis is not legal in The Netherlands. Well, not until today. The world-renowned coffeeshops of Amsterdam and many other cities across the country have been allowed to sell cannabis flowers and hash to everyone. However, what people don’t know is that the weed sold in the coffeeshops is in reality bought illegally. This was true for decades, until today when an experiment started in a few cities around The Netherlands where a few government-approved growers can cultivate and sell their flowers to the shops openly and legally.
Here more here:
The coffeeshops located in the cities that are part of this experiment are going to undergo a six-month trial before a country-wide expansion of the project. In the beginning, to make the transition smoother, weed shops are allowed to choose between buying from official sources or their old illegal growers.
