Your description is great because it depicts a perfect first trip.

The weirdness is necessary to an insightful first trip because the drastic break of ordinary point of view will lead to a state of consciousness that is necessary to achieve deepness in next experiences.

The reason for this is - or it was for me - that for my first trip I simply believed (never questioned, really) that there was only one way of seeing reality and it was the way that I saw it.

Some how I believed that every human (and even some animals) experienced reality in the only way that is possible.

After my first experience the biggest epiphany changed my life and set the stage for future trips. The epiphany that there are infinite ways of looking at things.
